This project aims to enhance the detection of active sites in catalytic materials using advanced X-ray spectroscopy techniques. By focusing on resonant X-ray emission, it seeks to improve the understanding of catalytic mechanisms in both heterogeneous and homogeneous systems.
One of the holy grails in catalytic research is the determination of the structure of the active site.
Information on the catalytically active site is notoriously difficult to obtain as it concerns a small minority of states in a sea of other silent states.
