XXL-REFRESH builds on previous work to transport large quantities of fresh water using modular textile containers. The project focuses on scaling up the manufacturing of a full-scale waterbag and conducting demonstration voyages, aiming to provide efficient and reliable water transport solutions globally.
XXL-REFRESH is built upon the results obtained by the REFRESH project (GA 262494), in which the project team demonstrated the feasibility of transportation of large quantities of fresh water by the sea using modular flexible barges.
