This research explores how blood flow dynamics influence the development of blood vessels, focusing on endothelial biology. Using advanced imaging and genetic techniques in zebrafish, it aims to uncover the interplay between physiological factors and genetic influences during angiogenesis.
Angiogenesis, or the sprouting of blood vessels from pre-existing ones is a key process in shaping the vasculature.
So far, angiogenesis research has mainly focused on identifying genetic players.
