This project investigates the cellular mechanisms involved in eye development, particularly focusing on the separation of optic vesicles. It aims to understand the signaling pathways and cell behaviors that lead to ocular malformations.
Our ability to understand the morphogenesis defects underlying hereditary ocular malformations such as cyclopia and micro/anophthalmia depends upon having a good understanding of the cellular events leading to the separation of the optic vesicles (OVs).
