FLETRAD develops a flexible and transparent radiation sensing platform using oxide transistors for applications in healthcare and civil security. The project aims to create a prototype that meets market needs for portable and high-resolution radiation detection while ensuring low cost and complexity.
Ionizing radiation presents a known health risk, but if used controllably it can be the basis of relevant applications spanning from healthcare to civil security.
Either for proper control of the dose received by patients in medical treatments or workers in radiation hazardous environments, or for high resolution imagers, proper quantification of the radiation doses is demanded.
