This project focuses on developing a smart garment for continuous monitoring of newborns during the critical bonding period after birth. It aims to enhance care quality by providing real-time bio-signal monitoring while minimizing invasiveness.
One of the most promising field of application of smart garment is baby monitoring: the most sensible periods of time in thefirst day of life of a newborn is the first 2-4 hours of life.
When the baby is born, for the first 2-4 hours there is no monitoringactive; the baby, after a rapid cleaning procedure and first checkup, is given naked to the mother who put him/her on herbreast.
