The PCSP project aims to develop a novel diagnostic test for prostate cancer using engineered cells that detect cancer-related compounds in urine. This technology seeks to improve accuracy over traditional methods, reducing unnecessary invasive procedures and enhancing patient care.
PCSP project is born out of the unique expertise developed after years of R&D at Canvax Biotech, and aims at transferring a technology to cover an unmet clinical need, accurate diagnosis of prostate cancer (PCa).
Canvax owns a unique set of patented technologies: i) high expression of olfactory receptors (oGPCRs) in heterologous cells, ii) coupling to a signalling cascade and iii) readable fluorescent assays to quantify oGPCR activation.
