PD_Pal seeks to validate a new palliative care model for patients with Parkinson’s Disease, integrating it with traditional care to address unmet needs. The project will assess the effectiveness of specialized outpatient interventions to improve quality of life for patients and their families.
Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder and is characterized in its advanced stages by motor and non-motor complications causing progressive loss of autonomy in activities of daily living, poor quality of life, marked caregiver distress, and high utilization of medical services.
